Children with autism at school age can be distracted when looking at coloring books or reading textbooks. They don’t look at the picture when coloring them. Ms. Thuy helps her child with a simple solution. She creates circles of different sizes on a transparent plastic/mica sheet (7 x 10 cm). When the child starts coloring, we put the plastic sheet on the picture and ask the child to color only inside the circle(s).
With this smart strategy, the child should focus on just the circle and one by one instead of looking at the whole picture, which is a challenge for them.
If the parents cannot make this device, they can purchase a similar one available on the market for the primary school student- drawing templates ruler.
